Enrolment Process

A bilingual education can do wonders. It helps your child develop wider, more diverse perspectives – and grow into a confident citizen of the world.

At DSM, we promote diligence, tolerance, responsibility, creativity and respect at all times.

We also create rich, nurturing learning environments – and involve the community wherever we can.

Places at DSM are limited. So please apply as early as possible.

You can apply for your child to start at any time throughout the school year.

We welcome applications from families of all backgrounds. However, to enrol at DSM, your child must:

• Have completed a 4-year-old kindergarten program  
• Be at least 5 years old by 1 January of the year they wish to begin Foundation Year (exceptions apply to children who turn 5 by 30 April and have passed our School Readiness Assessment)
• Take a language assessment if they are starting in any year level above Foundation Year

Your first step is to fill out an Application for Enrolment form. Please then send it to us, along with copies of the following documents: 

• Your child’s birth certificate
• Your child’s passport
• Your child’s visa (if not an Australian citizen)
• Your child’s latest school / kindergarten report (if available)
• Any medical reports / professional assessments (if available)
• Your child's most recent NAPLAN report (if applicable)
• Your child's medicare immunisation record
  
• Any family law or other court orders (if applicable)

To apply for a Foundation Year level place, we will invite your family to meet our Principal Jörg Dopfer 18 months before your child starts school.

This will give you a chance to ask questions, discover more about us – and ensure DSM is the perfect fit for your child. 

If your application is successful, you will receive a written Offer of Place.

To accept the offer you must complete and return the signed enrolment agreement and made the following payments within 14 days:

• A$1,400 non-refundable enrolment fee
• A$3,500 capital levy (which will be applied over the first three school years) 

After we have received the signed enrolment agreement and the deposit, we will send you a written confirmation of place.

We host multiple Open Days throughout the year. These give your family a special opportunity to learn more about our curriculum, teaching team and learning environment. You will also meet members of our parent community over a delicious morning tea.
