Our Community

Deutsche Schule Melbourne is proud of its vibrant parent community. Families from diverse backgrounds join the school and supplement school life by taking part in a variety of activities.

The school community organises events like the annual DSM Christmas Market, gets involved in Open Days and organises special occasions for the children, such as welcome BBQs, carnivals, Bonfire Night or German Movie Nights, just to name a few. Parents may get involved and support student learning by joining the one-on-one reading program, helping in the school library or with interschool competitions.

Parent Association

Our Parent Association is an important link between the DSM families and our school. All members of our Parent Association who are volunteers, that like to take on a more active and supporting role within our school community. The individual members of the Parent Association are selected representatives from each class and are actively involved in creating opportunities for the community to come together during the school year. These could be social, sport & fundraising events and other school celebrations. In addition, the Parent Association conveys the interests of the parent community to the school.
