Sandra Battistoni is the Head Teacher at Deutsche Schule Melbourne and also a class teacher. She has significant experience teaching German in multicultural environments. In her role as Head Teacher, Sandra works closely with all the teaching staff to coordinate and regularly refine the teaching of the bilingual curriculum. It is usually Sandra who helps welcome interested families to the school and explains the details of the educational model. Sandra says that whilst she enjoys all parts of her job, the most rewarding part is working with the children in the classroom. "Teaching children and helping them to grow into confident and socially competent personalities who can smoothly transition between cultures and languages is a delight." |

Susanne Hildebrand is the class teacher for the "green dragon class“. She mainly teaches Mathematics and German. Susanne was a foundation member of the school board at Deutsche Schule Melbourne and has been teaching at the school since the beginning of school operations (2008). Susanne loves the atmosphere at the school, in particular the openness to other cultures and backgrounds. “It does not matter whether new students speak English, German or both languages they will be welcomed by everyone. Language is not a barrier at this school.”

Georgia Homann-Carter teaches English, ICT (Internet, Communications & Technology) and Integrated studies with the older children. She hosts the weekly scrabble club on Wednesday afternoons to which all children are invited. She says: “I love working at a small school like DSM where I have the time to focus on each individual and cater for their different learning needs. It also allows me to follow the children’s growth and development over many years.”

Dominika Wagner teaches arts and music at Deutsche Schule Melbourne. She has been a member of the teaching staff since the school's inception in 2008. She aims to “provide options for the children to creatively express themselves within the objectives of the curriculum. It’s important for me that the children are happy during the music and arts classes and that they have lots of fun.” |
