DSM Christmas Market 2017

Thank you so much for all the effort, dedication and love all of you put into our Christmas Market again.

It was once again a huge success and even our beloved Melbourne weather could not kill the Christmas mood that was so lovingly created by you. All the German delicacies such as Lebkuchen, Weihnachtsgebäck, Bratwurst and of course Glühwein and Bier, the handcrafted gifts and fun activities like face painting, crafts and much more let all the visitors leave the school grounds with a huge smile on their faces, ignoring the wet hair and clothes that might have come with it.

We are looking forward to see you next year!

Book Week 2017

Book Week2While we were still basking in the afterglow of all the great food you provided during last week’s Project Days, we had a great time celebrating our next special week: Book Week! A big thank you goes to Ms King who organised the special activities, including the Dress Up Day and the fantastic workshop with Lucinda Gifford. Lucinda is a Melbourne-based children’s books author/illustrator whose clients include Scholastic, Harper Collins, Omnibus Books, Five Mile Press, Lothian Hachette and Walker Books. If you are curious about her work you can find out more on http://lucindagifford.com/about/. Everyone enjoyed the Book Week Dress Up Day Parade this morning, especially the teachers!

Table Tennis

Table TennisTalking about Sports: This week we were lucky to have German born-and-bred but Melbourne-based table tennis coach Patrick at school to teach our Years 2-6 students serious ping-pong sklills. What a surprise for the students to receive their lessons in German! They all had a lot of fun and are now able to show off some really good table tennis abilities.
